Standing atop the massive concrete curve of Hoover Dam on the Colorado River: the monumental Great Depression marvel that powered the American Southwest.

Spanning the rugged Black Canyon between Nevada and Arizona, Hoover Dam is an astonishing testament to what human vision, engineering genius, and sheer willpower can accomplish.

Built during the Great Depression

Constructed in the 1930s during the darkest years of the Great Depression, the dam provided work for thousands of families and tamed the wild Colorado River, creating Lake Mead and providing electricity and water to the entire Southwest.

Art Deco elegance meets massive scale

Beyond its immense engineering scale, Hoover Dam is adorned with stunning Art Deco architecture, terrazzo floors, and the majestic winged bronze sculptures guarding its plaza. Standing on its rim looking down into the canyon is an unforgettable sensation.
