Designed by visionary eccentric Alex Jordan in the 1940s, the house was built directly atop Deer Shelter Rock. With low ceilings, exposed stone walls, hidden nooks, and oriental lamps, it feels like an organic subterranean retreat.
The dramatic Infinity Room
The crowning jewel of the house is the Infinity Room — a breathtaking glass-walled corridor extending 218 feet out over the forest canopy without any supports underneath. Walking to its tip, where the floor narrows and 3,000 windows overlook the valley, is a thrilling sensation!
