1. What is the Development Services Database (BUR)?

The Development Services Database (BUR) is a nationwide Polish public portal managed by the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP). It connects individuals and businesses seeking professional training with accredited educational institutions.

For a language school to list subsidized courses co-funded by the European Social Fund, it must hold an accredited third-party quality seal. In the case of Szkoła Językowa OK, this is the official TGLS Quality Alliance certification.

While PARP operates the portal itself, the actual grant funds in the Podkarpackie region stem from the European Funds for Podkarpackie 2021–2027 program (FEP) and are distributed by regional operators such as RARR S.A. and the Regional Labor Office (WUP) in Rzeszów.

2. Who is eligible for co-financing in Podkarpackie?

Under regional grant allocations in Podkarpackie, up to 80% co-financing is available for:

1. Sole proprietorships (JDG / B2B contractors): Self-employed professionals (e.g. IT engineers, software developers, architects, consultants registered in Podkarpackie) can fund up to 80% of their own language training without needing to employ staff.

2. Micro and small enterprises (2–49 staff): Business owners aiming to upskill their project, sales, or customer service teams in small micro-groups.

3. Medium-sized enterprises: Eligible for 50–70% co-financing depending on specific regional allocation criteria.

3. How much is the actual out-of-pocket cost?

The subsidy rate for micro/small businesses and sole proprietors is standardly 80%. This means the European Social Fund covers 80% of the gross cost, leaving only a 20% own contribution.

For example:
• A full-year English course in a micro-group of 2–4 students (70 lesson hours) in BUR: 5,250 PLN
• EU funding coverage (80%): 4,200 PLN
• Your actual own contribution (20%): 1,050 PLN

This translates to just approximately 15 PLN per lesson hour in a small, focused group setting.

4. What is the exact application procedure?

Applying for BUR funding requires following an orderly sequence of steps:

1. Initial consultation & needs assessment (at SJOK) — We establish your current proficiency, goals, and select the tailored course syllabus (general, business, or specialized).

2. Submitting the grant application to the Regional Operator — You submit the application during the regional call with the designated operator (e.g., RARR in Rzeszów). We help prepare the required data.

3. Signing the grant contract & receiving your Support ID — Once verified, the operator signs the funding agreement and issues a unique Support ID number.

4. Enrolling in the course via BUR — With your Support ID, you enroll in the selected SJOK service card on uslugirozwojowe.parp.gov.pl.

5. Attending classes & grant settlement — You complete your classes in micro-groups or 1:1. Upon achieving attendance requirements and completing the final validation, we issue the certificate required for grant reimbursement.

5. Are class schedules in BUR rigid?

Many prospective learners wonder if the exact dates and times shown on BUR service cards are fixed.

Listing a sample timetable is a technical requirement of the PARP system. In practice, specific class days and hours are agreed individually with the learner or company prior to starting, ensuring full compatibility with your work schedule.
